Custom Shipping Container Modifications
Custom designed modular buildings that fill almost any need.
If you can dream it, we can build it!
Almost any structure you can imagine can be built using shipping containers. We've built more than 600 modular structures over the years and most of them have been custom design builds.
Whether you're looking for products we've built in the past, like Mobile Labs, Fire Training Facilities or Sidewalk Hoarding, or a more simple container modification, such as a window, insulation or roll up door, we can help.
All you need is a well-defined need and we can do the rest. Our design build process includes initial discovery, research, budgeting, design, procurement, building and delivery.
Oversized Custom Structures: 10’ - 12’ Wide
Standard shipping containers are 8-feet wide, and while we often modify Boxes at that size, we can also create slightly larger, custom sized buildings.
The extra square footage of a larger Box creates a more spacious building, while maintaining its portability. Even 10’-12’ modified containers are as easy to move and transport as a standard container building.
Custom Multi-Box Structures: Two or More Shipping Containers Wide
If you’re looking for a building that is even larger than 12’ - 14’ wide, we would recommend a multi-box structure. These are steel buildings that are two or more shipping containers welded together, creating a wide-open, durable building.

Residential Moving & Storage
BigSteelBox makes residential moving and storage simple.
We deliver a BigSteelBox to your home, you pack it at your own pace, then we pick it up and move it to your new home. If you need storage, keep the Box at your place or we'll store it at one of our secure locations.
Benefits of Building with Steel
For mobile structures on remote worksites, building with steel makes sense when compared to wood-frame construction.
BigSteelBoxes are built for ocean shipping and withstanding the elements, so they're much more solid, durable and stackable than trailers.
